Participants may attend one, two, or all three modules of the SDP Institute for Leadership in Analytics.
Note that modules' weeks overlap but days do not conflict.
SDP Institute: Education Data Strategy Module
Grow your agency’s data capacity and analytics for 2021-2022
This four-session module will provide frameworks and strategic support for developing your data-use capacity.
Participants will:

Identify growth opportunities for your agency’s data use;

Design a strategic analytic plan to address your organization’s most pressing challenge; and
-
Develop stakeholder engagement plans to enhance the impact of your data analytic work.
Learn from Harvard faculty about the important questions you should be asking and how to uncover the answers within your data, and network with data leaders and your peers.

SDP Institute: Data Visualization and Communication Module
Transform data dashboards and presentations into compelling tools for improvement
Data can tell a powerful story. This module will develop your narrative skills to create beautiful and compelling visualizations. Over the course of four sessions, you’ll delve into dashboards and reports and learn targeted communication strategies to reach different stakeholders.

SDP Institute: Data Equity and Ethics Module
Help your organization use data for good and grow its commitment to equity, inclusion, and ethical data use
Our new coursework focused on Equity and Ethics equips data leaders with actionable tools to incorporate considerations of equity in their data strategy. Participants will learn inclusive strategies for working with education data and discuss analyses that shed light on opportunity gaps in our education systems. Participants will also work to address the more complex ethical challenges in their work, such as gaming, bias, and data privacy. This module topic is new to Institute offerings.

Eligibility
Applicants must be employed by an education agency (school district, state education agency, CMO, education nonprofit or education-focused foundation) unless applying to attend the Data Visualization and Communication module.
Application Deadline and Details

Modules are filling up. The application deadline for all modules is April 16.

Acceptance is rolling, though modules have an enrollment cap and we encourage interested participants to apply before modules fill.

Payment is due within four weeks of receiving an acceptance email. Acceptance is contingent on completion of payment and once payment is received, your spot is secured.
FAQs
Can I take more than one module?
Yes, participants are able and encouraged to take multiple modules. The module times will not overlap to allow for enrollment across topics.
Can I take a module if I've attended an in-person Institute?
Yes, we encourage former participants to take a module. The Data Equity & Ethics module is new content and will not be repetitive of previous institutes.
Is there discounted pricing for groups from a single agency?
Yes, the discounted fee for sending more than one participant to a single module or multiple modules from a single agency is $495/person. This discount also applies to a single person taking more than one module.
