What is a Data Fellow?
Data Fellows are recruited by SDP via a competitive nationwide search. They are matched to SDP partner organizations where they are hired as full-time, paid, agency employees for two years. They bring impressive credentials in statistics, data management, and research methods.
Submit an application detailing your organization's need for a Data Fellow, the type of work or project you have in mind, and administrative information. Applications open on October 5, 2020.
Participate in a 30-minute screening call to review the application, timeline, and needs with the SDP team.
Ensure the position is approved by your HR Department and sign and return an MOU.
Review candidate matches sent by SDP and invite up to 2 candidates for an interview.
Work with SDP to make an offer to your preferred candidate with a start date on or before September 1, 2021.
Supervisors and fellows participate in onboarding and Orientation activities
We recommend applying sooner rather than later to ensure you have the greatest chance of finding a match.
Applications open October 5, 2020. There are two deadlines and partners are invited to screening calls on a rolling basis.
Contracts must be fully executed before a parter can interview Data Fellow candidates.
There is a partnership fee associated with hosting a Data Fellow. This fee is payable up front or in installments. The SDP Data Fellow partnership fee covers the recruitment, screening, and matching of your fellow as well as all activities and travel over the two-year fellowship, including:
- workshops for the fellow and the supervisor
- software licenses
- full access to toolkits and network resources
- virtual learning
- support for a completed analytic project commissioned by your agency.
Partners are responsible for paying their Data Fellow a salary between $75,000-90,000, plus benefits for the duration of the fellowship.
