**Preschool Supply & Demand** is a collaboration between the Strategic Data Project and representatives from the California Department of Education, Denver Public Schools, Denver Preschool Program, South Carolina First Steps, Chicago Early Childhood Integrated Data System, National Head Start Association, Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, and Washington Education Research and Data Center. It is supported by the Gates Foundation.

The shared goal: Use data to align preschool offerings with the needs of real families. This includes balancing preschool supply with demand and ensuring that programs align offerings with family needs and support meaningful early learning.

The Strategic Data Project (SDP), an initiative of the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University, trained the education leaders on data-driven decision-making in a two-year Strategic Data Project Fellowship. The SDP Fellows worked on data projects for their state and met regularly as a working group to solve problems and codify best practices.
