The **Sample Family & Educator Feedback Survey**, an example from Boston Public Schools, helps districts systematically capture how report card language and structures are interpreted and used by families, educators, and instructional staff. By translating lived experience into structured evidence, the survey supports informed decisions about whether—and how—existing tools are fit for purpose before they are used for system-level analysis.

This tool is part of [**The** **Early Learning Journey**](https://sdp.cepr.harvard.edu/early-learning-journey-connecting-preschool-data-elementary-outcomes)**,** a collaboration between the Strategic Data Project and representatives from Boston Public Schools, the California Department of Education, Chicago Public Schools, the D.C. Office of the State Superintendent of Education, and the Washington State Education Research and Data Center. It is supported by the Gates Foundation.
