Attending SDP Convening

Current Fellows and Supervisors

Step 1: Register

Please RSVP to confirm your attendance at the 2019 Strategic Data Project Convening. This event is invite-only and there is no registration fee in celebration of our 10th year.

Step 2: Schedule a Travel Consultation

Please schedule a travel consultation call so we may make your travel arrangements to convening. On these consultation calls you will discuss your travel options and needs, and we will book your travel (via rail or air) accordingly. Contact Emma FitzGerald with questions or to discuss your travel plans.

Arrival

  • All fellows and supervisors should arrive in Boston before 12:00PM on Monday, May 20th. Convening events will begin at 3:00PM.
  • If you are unable to arrive in Boston on Monday before 12:00PM, you will likely have to fly the day before on Sunday, May 19th. You will discuss available options during your consultation call.

Departure

  • Convening will officially adjourn at 3:00PM on Wedneday, May 22nd.
  • Cohort 10 fellows and supervisors, and Cohort 9 supervisors should depart after 5:30PM on Wednesday, May 22nd.
  • Cohort 9 fellows should depart after 2:00PM on Thursday, May 23rd to allow time to celebrate their fellowship graduation.

Step 3: Your Hotel is Covered

SDP will house fellows and supervisors in either the Charles Hotel, or the adjacent Harvard Square Hotel.

  • Cohort 10 fellows and supervisors, and Cohort 9 supervisors: Room and board expenses for two nights at one of these two local hotels are covered by SDP.
  • Cohort 9 fellows:  Room and board expenses for three nights at one of these two local hotels are covered by SDP.
  • If you are traveling from the West Coast (or similar distances) and need to stay an extra night, you will receive approval to do so during your travel consultation call.

Step 4: Build Your Agenda

In April you will receive an email and link to the final agenda so that you may make your session selections.

SDP Alumni

Step 1: Register

Please RSVP to confirm your attendance at the 2019 Strategic Data Project Convening. This event is invite-only and there is no registration fee in celebration of our 10th year.

Please note that travel and lodging will be provided for all selected speakers. You can read and respond to the request for presentations (RFP) here. Additionally, alumni representing agencies that are selected to attend the PIER Summit will have room, board, and registration covered by CEPR's PIER program.

Step 2: Book Your Own Travel

Alumni are responsible for their own travel. Plan to arrive before 12:00PM on May 20th for a 3:00PM start, and depart after 5:30PM on May 22nd (convening will officially adjourn by 3:00PM).  

Step 3: Reserve a Hotel Room

We recommend staying at the convening hotel, the Charles Hotel; however, other area hotels (including the Harvard Square Hotel) or Airbnbs may be more cost effective for individuals or groups of alumni. 

Step 4: Build Your Agenda

In April you will receive an email and link to the final agenda so that you may make your sesion selections.

Speakers

Step 1: Propose a Session

Submit your proposal to speak at SDP Convening.

  • Final deadline for proposals is March 11, 2019

  • Acceptances will be delivered before March 18, 2019

Step 2: Register

Please RSVP to confirm your attendance at the 2019 Strategic Data Project Convening. This event is invite-only and there is no registration fee in celebration of our 10th year. When you register, please indicate that you are a speaker, including whether you are proposing a session or if you were invited.

Step 4: Book Your Travel

Once your session's time is confirmed, please schedule a travel consultation call so we may make your travel arrangements to convening. On these consultation calls you will discuss your travel options and needs, and we will book your travel (via rail or air) accordingly. Contact Emma FitzGerald with questions or to discuss your travel plans.

You should plan your travel so that you arrive on May 20th before 2:00PM and depart after 5:30PM on May 22nd. 

Step 5: Your Hotel is Covered

SDP will house speakers in either the Charles Hotel, or the adjacent Harvard Square Hotel. Room and board expenses for two nights at one of these two local hotels are covered by SDP, unless otherwise discussed during your travel consultation call.

Step 6: Build Your Agenda

In April, SDP will invite you to select your preferred breakout sessions. Don't forget to select your own!

Harvard CEPR Staff and Affiliates

Step 1: Register

Please RSVP to confirm your attendance at the 2019 Strategic Data Project Convening. This event is invite-only and there is no registration fee in celebration of our 10th year.

Step 2: Plan Your Trip

The 2019 Strategic Data Project Convening will commence at 3:00PM on Monday, May 20, and adjourn by 3:00PM on Wednesday, May 22.

If you are traveling from out of town, we encourage you to arrange accommodations at the Charles Hotel, however, other area hotels (incluidng the Harvard Square Hotel) may be more cost-effective.

In April you will receive an email and link to the final agenda so that you may make your sesion selections.

PIER Attendees

The Partering in Education Research (PIER) Summit will take place in conjunction with the SDP annual convening. Please contact Irene Pak with questions about the PIER Summit.

If your research proposal is accepted you will receive instructions for booking travel and lodging to Boston for the PIER Summit. If you plan to stay after the PIER Summit for the SDP convening, please complete the following steps:

Step 1: Register
